This article describes what properties of a Folder you can edit and how.
There are multiple ways to edit an already existing Folder:
- Rename the Folder
- Edit Users' Permissions to the Folder
- Edit the Locks added to the Folder
- Change the visibility of the Folder
- Add another Folder in the Folder
- Add a Form in the Folder
Renaming a Folder
To rename a Folder, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Database.
- Click “Database settings.”
- Select the Folder you want to edit and click "Rename folder" on the Resource side panel.
- Type in the new name for the Folder and click "OK" to save the changes.
The Folder is renamed.
Editing Users' Permissions to a Folder
To edit user permissions to a Folder, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Database.
- Click “Database settings.”
- Select the Folder you want to edit.
- Click on the Permissions tab to view all users that have been granted Permissions for the Folder.
- Click on "Grant permissions" to grant new permissions for this Folder or click on a user from the list.
- Select the user for which you want to grant permissions by clicking on it.
- You will view the preselected Permissions for this User. Check or uncheck the boxes to change the Permissions.
- Click on "Done" to save the changes.
Editing Locks added to Folder
To edit Locks on a Folder, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Database.
- Click “Database design.”
- Select the Folder that contains the Lock you want to edit.
- On the Resource side panel, click “Locks” to reveal the available Locks.
- Select the Lock and make the changes.
- Click "Save" to update a Lock.
If you add a Lock to a Folder this Lock is inherited by the Forms and Subforms in this Folder as long as they have a Date/Month/Week field made as a Key field. Learn more about adding Locks.
